so im going to be starting a project soon, retrofiting H.I.D Projectors into my '06 Ninja. Going to use Bi-xieon's(sp) i think from an Audi A6. Lots of guys have already done this over on Kawiforums, so i got lots of instructions......the only thing i dont know and couldnt find was how to heat my headlight up to separate the glass from the headlight houseing? People say you can throw it into a pre heated over for a bit then just pull the pices apart but know one seems to know a forsure bake time and temp? Or the other method is to sit there w/a hair dryer for hours heating and prying little by little. any thoughts?

will look like this.....i hope

When i had my Is300 alot of people where using the oven to heat the headlights up so they could seperate the lens and paint the house black(i sent mine out) looked freakin sick...

I would put your oven to 350 and put them in. I would check every 5 mintues or so, but really its probably 10-15 minutes for the glue to get soft...Just keep checking it every 5 mintues or so.

You are able to pull the head light apart from teh fairing right? Cuase i dunno how the paint would hold up..

Get a putty knife or flat knife while trying to seperate the lens...

When you put it back together make sure to take your time with the new sealent so you don't have hole in the glue and then get condensation in..

350 seems way too hot! water boils at 212, I would say start at 150 and leave it in for 15 minutes, and if that doesnt do it, move up in 25 degree increments. Could take a while, but overcooked headlight isn't a delicacy.

I have a damaged 05 one, the lens is in tact but the mounting tabs are screwed. Name a price, I live in RI, not too far away.

ever consider buying a heat gun? Might be a little safer.
