How long have you been riding?

Just as the title says, I just wanted to get an idea of how long everyone has been riding motorcycles, and how many miles you've gotten under you in that time(roughly...)

I've been riding since April of this year(2006), and I've put on about 11,000 miles between 3 bikes.

If we count dirt, then I've been on two wheels since I was 5 years old (I'll be 33 in January).

Strictly on the street: I go my first street bike at 17 years old (I was pretty cool back then :pow: ) It was a '90 GSX-R750. Shortly followed by a '91 GSX-R1100 that got looped and resulted in a lengthy hospital stay.

That gives me 16 years on the street and I couldn't even guess how many miles are under my belt.

July 15 1987 is my start date. How do I know the exact date you ask? Thats the day my brother left for the Corps and left his dirtbike in the garage. It then became my dirtbike. It was all downhill from there. Next July is my 20th anniversary. Whos gonna throw me a party? I dont know what my mileage is but its definitely low. I dont think high miles means anything about your skills. Its about how you ride those miles.

I like to think I've had a fairly quick learning curve in the past year, due to the fact I've done essentially NO highway miles, and nearly ALL twisties. I <3 western mass/vermont. ;)
