OK, so three cars is a bit much...I need to get rid of the "new" one...
1992 Talon FWD Turbo w/5spd:

Very good black exterior w/no rust. The hood was rattle-canned by the PO, so you can see some swirl marks and it's a matte black kind of - but it never bothered me, so I kept it like that.
Excellent shape gray cloth interior w/sunroof. I replaced the headliner w/a black one - looks MUCH better than when I bought it.

Only 107K miles on body. 6K on rebuilt engine – 155 to 160 compression across the board. The engine was rebuilt two owners ago (yes, only 6K miles on it in that time).

Motor has rebuilt head with new valve seals and valve job and new valve guides. Balance shafts removed. Oil pickup removed & cleaned – new oil pan gasket. Motor also has -- new timing belt & tensioner – new timing belt pulley’s – new water pump –New spark plugs & almost new wires.

Mods installed 2K miles ago:

Low mileage replacement 14B
Almost new ACT 2600 clutch
High flow 2.5” cat con
Walboro 255 fuel pump
K&N filter
Boost controller
Boost gauge
A/F gauge
New oil & filter
New BG syncroshift in transmission
New oil change
Almost new brakes on all 4
Almost new 4 all season tires

Car drives very smooth and absolutely screws on the street with 17 psi of boost. I also have a new O2 sensor I bought but haven't installed yet.

Asking $2750, which is below KBB retail and right around NADA retail, but will entertain any reasonable offers. I'll get some better pics after it snows tomorrow if anyone wants - she's pretty dirty right now.

<^the hood is wet in this pic, it's not actually bubble-y!

Sweet ride. I owned a 91 that handled like a dream and did over 140 MPH. I miss that car. Good luck with the sale.

Damn Bill, that is a shame you have to sell it. I wish I had the extra cash, I'd buy it in a heart beat. I love those TSI, too bad it wasn't AWD.

Good Luck with the sale!

C'mon Jim, you know you want it ;)

Matt, I've had this one up to about 130 I think, felt like it was on rails. I was kinda surprised how smooth the ride was at that speed. That's one of the reasons I'm selling it, it's gonna get me in trouble.

I know Vinny, I'm not looking forward to it too much. I took her out for a spin last week and had second thoughts...but I'm moving at the end of this month and don't want to take it w/me...

I will pass this on, I always wanted one of these, omg I still need one. must check with authority. keeping fingers crossed. she'll say no i'm sure, but I will ask. sounds to be in good shape you probably won't have a problem selling it. I hope i can get it.

So I posted the car FS on craiglist as well...and I got this e-mail this morning... Do people REALLY think this works? Or the better question is, WHO are the retards that take this seriously?

"Dear Sir/Ma,

Calvary greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I saw your truck on
craigs listings and told the congregation about it and we are willing to
make the purchase. As we need the truck to convery people from their various
houses to church and most importantly to carry people from their residents
to the camp where we will be holding our conference for 3weeks.

Please we have once bought one truck from this site and we are really
regretting it because it developed some faults after one week of purchase
and the seller as earlier told us it was in its good condition. So kindly
and honestly let me know the condition of this truck as you know we are
using it for God's work so if there is need for repair or servicing kindly
let me know so we can know if the price we are paying for the truck is
really worth what we are bidding for.

We are receiving fund raise from some people over the nation and beyond and
one of the people supporting us is a transportation company called ( The
International Air cargo Association ) who are assisting us with donations
through bank check hence payment will be sent to you from their finance
department through a secured courier company ( DHL ) and tracking number
will be included hence kindly advice me of the name to be printed on the
check and the address where the check is to be sent.Wrong address might
lead to misplacement of check and we might not take it lightly with the
person involved so kindly make sure the address is correct as on USPS.

Once check is received you are required to deposit it at your bank and wait
for it to clear in your bank . Once its cleared by your bank kindly write
me an email notification so i can inform one of the church drivers to come
and pick up the truck at you own conviniency.

Many Thanks and God Bless.

Not to crap on the thread, but I owned one of these cars once in the non-turbo version, same year actually, 1992. I put more money into fixing that car than I paid for it, of the 8 cars I've owned it was by far the biggest piece of sh*t. The tranny went, the CV joints went bad, I had to put an idle control motor in it, the E-break cable would freeze in the winter and wear down the rear brakes cause it would stay on... you name it and it went wrong with this thing. Another thing, the lift supports for the hatch crap out easy cause the hatch is heavy. I always wanted to put altezza's on the thing but I couldn't find em anywhere for the life of me. Looks like you've got a lot of money and work invested into it though so maybe it's not a sh*tter like the one I ended up with. Good luck with the sale...don't sell it to those sheep herders though, you won't get a damn dollar outta them.

Yeah I know Terry - when I was looking to buy, I heard a bunch of horror stories about DSMs. But I've always wanted one, so I bought it anyways. Hasn't given me any problems in the 4 months I've owned it really...

Most people have a love/hate relationship with these cars. They are a blast to mod and can be damn fast but on the other hand it does require some wrench time. I had a 2nd gen and I had that love/hate relationship with it. When it was problem free I loved the car and then something would break and I wanted to set it on fire.

I always heard that the 1g's were pretty dependable as far as the engine and trans went. I have been in this car and its pretty quick. If I had the time and extra money I'd think about picking this up as a project car. I miss having a turbocharged car. :(

It's def the shortest amt of time I've ever owned something! But I had it for just under 4 months (registered Nov 1 or something like that), so it was close...haha...

Hey I think maybe we just shouldn't help each other pick up a vehicle...maybe it's bad luck or something :madrun:

I actually stopped using syrup and started using jelly.

The peanut butter sounds weird but is quite good. Don't knock it until you try it.
