Just got home from another awesome two days in New Jersey! Seemed like everyone had a great time, and the weather was PERFECT. I really do love that track, it's such a change from Loudon that it's like having the best of both worlds having them both only a few hours away. It was cool having the BoRn crew down there as always, and it seemed like everyone really stepped it up over the course of the past two days.
I've got a bunch of video from both days, which I'll be going through over the next week or so and getting up. All you people who have only ever ridden New Hampshire, you seriously need to get down there and try out NJ, I think everyone will agree that you don't know what you're missing!

thanks again for the pointers, john. wish i could have stayed the second day just to practice what johnny (rocket) drew, too. this is my favorite track, too. we hit a hail storm on the way back, randomly... thankfully that didn't hit earlier.

Can't wait to scrounge up some cash and do it again...i am hooked now :D. Thanks again to Scott (c5quest) for letting me borrow a back protector. and it's always good to hang out with you guys.

Just waking up now...I am one tired and sore pup..
I am going to do a write up of NJ and TTD crew in a bit, since it was my first time there and I think the "it's such a fast track" mentality is misleading to those who have not been there before. I want to post up my $.02 about it, as I think anyone with a passion for motorcycles needs to get there ass down to NJ because that track is so awesome that you will learn more in 1 day on that track then you would in years of riding on the street and reading/watching videos on the interweb.
I want to thank Jride for following me around for a session and helping pick up what I was missing, being able to really get all the dots connected really helped out. Johnny Rocket for your additional input for the 'jerersy devil' turn, after talking to you both, I rocked that section going forward :)
I want to thank the Tony's Track Day, the class room seessions where invaulable, seeing pictures of the track that have a good line drawn on it, really helps while you are out there, as this track is very easy to go from a picture to being out there. That probably doesn't make sense but when I wake up some I and do my own post on the track, I will explain it better.
:)

What a great day and seeing Marsh jump up to the Yellow group and rock it was awesome! :D

Jeff never fear, I do not think I wil ever be fast enough to keep up with half of the people on the board. I am more than happy to ride slow and enjoy life.

Ya ya.. Turn 2 and 3.. Im slowly working my way around the track to have all corners covered.:(
I had one too.
That's right, I had my first ever track day crash. That's after more than ten years of riding track days with thousands of track miles.
... and no, I wasn't chasing Tony. I was behind him on our out lap when I turned in a bit too fast for T5 My cold front tire wasn't ready to grip the track at that speed and with the light trailbraking was using.
The two sessions in the cool garage cooled the tires, but the very warm air and track temps fooled me into thinking the tires were warm enough. Not so.
When the front tire tucked, the bike shot to the edge of the track, caught on the grass and flipped, destroying my tank-mounted digicam and putting a decent dent in the tank. The only other damage was a bit of race fiberglass rash and a bent clip-on. I was back on track at speed about an hour and a half later.
BTW, how does grass and dirt get embedded between the wheel and the tire??

But now I dont feel as bad if you give me crap Tony cause Ken went down the lap prior. Happens to everyone at some point. Should have just stuck to my CBR as I felt some real progress this time in NJ. The SV is so much fun but maybe pushed it a little hard. Wondering if I had some issue Ken had with tires?? With that hill it really felt like a hit a peg though and lifted or like you said may have slid the tires and caught peg? Who knows.

I definitely hope it's not a highside.
I don't exactly bend or bounce anymore...
I'm pretty sure I would just land and break into a bunch of little pieces held together by my leathers.
