Default Icon Helmets

Anyone have any personal experience with the newer Icon stuff? I'm looking at https://www.cyclegear.com/gear/icon-airframe-pro-helmet

I need to replace the Suomy, but honestly I might just buy another one because no one even comes close to the light weight of it until you get into the super high end carbon helmets. My big gripe with them is that they barely import their helmets if at all, so options are super limited.

I was looking at the bell star for a second but it's over a full 1LB heavier than my Suomy .

Not sure if it counts towards "newer" stuff, but last year my dad had enough of his noisy, falling apart 3 year old icon helmet (although it had a pretty awesome scheme on it) and bought a shoei.... I believe his was an airframe, but pretty sure it was not the pro.

Get a helmet with an intergrated sliding sun visor. Thank me later.

I really liked that feature on my scorpion. Now if only my freakin transitions shield would come in for my new helmet

This is what I might get if I were in the market. The flip down visor is great and the build qualityvery good.

Have a big cycle gear gift card in trying to use. Also wish it came in white

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/shoei/qwest/

This makes a good case for the qwest. It's not exciting like more race oriented helmets but it might be better anyway; and icon is trash.

We're a Suomy dealer and we can get you anything they offer if you need a semi-local option.

Also, we're having a pretty good deal on the RF1200's and the lone X14 that we have in stock. Pm or text me if you're interested.

back in the day, I had an icon mainframe. Had an off where I scraped my head. Walked away with no injuries....It was heavy, a little warm, but did it's job.
