Matt isn't saying "I think it's the tires," he's asking if it could be these particular tires, after 8 trackdays, and in light of possibly physical damage to the tire.

Yes, and you'd be lucky to run it nowadays.

Okay re "those particular tires" I agree, change them out, makes sense give that he has gotten his money out of them, and why be distracted by uncertainty.

As you know, Mike, at the pace of the slower end of yellow, you need very little traction to get around the track. My suggestion wasn't really about whether to change the tires, but more about where he should be looking for his answer to why he fell.

At the lower end of yellow, they may never get warm on a cold day, that may be part of the issue combined with lack of experience (technique).

No harm in getting a coach or control rider to follow him around, they may see something worth correcting.

This is not at all meant to be critical of the rider, there is a learning curve, just offering suggestions.

p.s. his avatar looks great, like a superbike rider....nice body position

I will be in Hamden on Saturday evening, if youre still there and have a way to mount them? Or, I live right in Naugatuck and could mount them here this Saturday during the day.
Thanks Mike. I ended up selling my day for Tuesday, the starter or starter relay has been finicky, I didn't want to stress this weekend over getting that replaced too. I'll probably grab a set of those Rosso Corsas later this month anyways.

Every q3 I had did that and my buddy at work also. We just kept riding with them and never had a issue. My last one was 1/3 of the way across the rear tire.
