At this point a paycheck is a paycheck. Im trying to find something I can actually enjoy and be passionate about.... although it will likely mean a huge pay cut at this point

A big part of what keeps me at this company is that I enjoy the reward of engineering nuclear subs. To work on a project so massive every day is what keeps me coming back. However, I could also work at Tesla or something of the like where I don't exactly agree with what they're trying to do (build electric cars before the problems of energy storage have actually been resolved) but it would still advance my career significantly. On the other hand, if I got a job offer from space-x I would turn them down purely on the grounds that I don't agree at all with what they're trying to do. Commercialization/privatization of space travel is something I'm strongly against at this point and couldn't see myself supporting a company that was actively trying to do that regardless of the pay (up to a certain point of course, pay me $200k/year and there's not a lot of places I wouldn't work :lol )

I like what I do no matter what I say when I've been drinking lol. The money's good and I get to work on cars that most people can only dream of seeing. However sometimes I want to go see if Walmart needs greeters. My bosses support my ideas and goals but they're not always attainable. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills. I hate doing something I disagree with to finish a project but it would be that way at any place I worked sometimes a client just wants a finished product not a perfect one and that's what bothers me because it's my name on it and regardless of how much they say it's ok, the first time someone notices an imperfection and mentions it to them do you really think they'll say oh I told them not to worry about that to save money. No. They're going to pretend they didn't notice it and bad mouth you to save face. But like I said. The bills gotta get paid and sometimes you have to do what you're told to do not what's you want to

I work to live, I don't live to work.

I don't need to "believe" in the "mission." My mission is to get paid.

Note that this applies to my day job. Maybe it's because I have small business I actually care about that I can not care much about what my full time employer does.

Also, it's worth noting that I do like my job, and the people I work with and for. However, if the owner decided tomorrow that we'd change business models and start selling a product that would allow you to force bees to sting babies, I'd stay there as long as they kept compensating me the same way.
