Can't speak for Apple TV but I'm pretty sure disney xd is not on roku. I remember looking for it so I could watch star wars rebels and couldn't find it

Apple TV has Disney JR and XD. However, for most of the channels, you need a subscription, like Netflix and Hulu do.

It also has PBS kids. Again, same deal, it may or may not require a subscription.

I will admit that if you're an Apple person, the ATV is the choice, since you can use AirPlay to stream from an iPhone or iPad.

If you're not an Apple person, the Roku is probably the better choice. They can be had much cheaper and there are more channels.

The only thing I wish the ATV had was Amazon Instant Video. Since I can stream from my iPad, that isn't such an issue, but it'd be nice to have it all in one.

We recently picked up ChromeCast to use in the upstairs bedroom and are planning to remove cable completely and use Apple TV. It's going to be a interesting adjustment but it will be nice to save almost $50.00 a month.

bump. so after seeing my most recent cable bill, I told frontier to beat it. I kept just the web, for a dirt cheap price btw.

how what do you guys use to watch tv; that have "cut the cord"

At the moment we have an apple tv, that we don't really use other than to watch youtube, a hacked fire stick with kodi that we just got, and an xbox one.
