Lol , I dress weather permitting .... Helmet only when cold or going out of Ct . Do I twist my throttle ? YES ..... But never ever in traffic or in situations where it’s just not right to do so . I have been on the street for a very long time . Dirt rider my whole childhood , The reason why I ride a Busa is not for the speed it’s just sport bikes are the right tool for the job of sharing the road with today’s texting drivers . Summer time 80 plus degrees I have been known to ride in shorts and t-shirt . When it comes to riding , I feel that to each his own . It doesn’t matter to me what type of bike you choose or what you wear while riding . All that matters is that we all love to ride and be in the outdoors that and that is our main connection .

Last year I crash tested my helmet for the first time on the street, ever. Year 33 of street riding, plus motocross, road racing, woods racing, etc.

It was entirely my fault. Dry pavement, broad daylight, stone sober, known road, no cars or animals in sight. Definitely dead without it. Even with a good open face helmet I would've been dead, never mind a stupid ass Red Baron helmet. Glad I put it on for what was intended to be a three minute test ride!

To each his own in equipment choices. I'm only posting to say you never experience your way out of benefitting from the protection. I will never get on a bike without at least a full face helmet, again, ever. I had an open face helmet in my garage, threw that away afterwards

After the crash, because I had put on that full face and gloves and padded summer riding jacket and jeans, I got up, dusted myself off, and pushed the bike home...with plenty of road rash, and limping, with a missing big toenail on the leg opposite the side I went down on (!, stupid sneakers)....but alive. Pretty thankful for the relatively harmless wake up call.

That sucks , I’m sorry that you had to go through that ..... Falling does take a lot of people out of the game . I’m glad to hear you got back on ! !

Sorry for hijacking the thread...
Gary, does it mean you are replacing your lemon/tennis ball colored Shoei?
