Default Riding opportunity here in CT, no reg required!

We've been searching high and low for something, anything we could possibly do to provide legal riding here in CT and we may have found something. By this time next week we will know the fate of our proposal for nearly 400 acres of private land in north western CT. This is an area that you can spend an entire weekend at. Camp sites, commercial kitchen, water and relatively close to a major highway, swimming hole, fire pit but there is a catch... We have to develop a contract between COREC and the land owner that meets his requirements and allows him to feel comfortable with people being on his property. The land will also need single track trails cut. There are some wider (Jeep) trails that already exist but not many. These existing trails would access points and means of egress from the land back to camp. So far we have about 150 people who said they would be willing to volunteer and we are developing on a work schedule for the remainder of the year and into next year. The goal is to have this place operational to accept specialized trips for all modalities. This will not be a public access trail system since it's on private property so a schedule will be made for available riding dates. I will be back on Monday AM to update this post, until then, happy riding.

For all the people who don't feel like googling. Coolbrook, its on the boarder with Mass. Along Rte. 8.

I really don't get why you're keeping this such a secret when you're looking for help.

I truly wish you the best on this but at over an hour from my door I expect to go play there 2-3 times a year tops.

This will be single track trails, not an MX track unfortunately. There is the possibility of hare scrambles there as well.

Only one in the state now is Plainfield. Central Cycle Club. We have a kids track and a regular track.
