Wow! So what did the whole deal end up costing you? Any materials besides the pump?

1500 bucks is average to pull and replace a pump, chris your well could be in a pit below grade, go to town hall get as built for septic, it should show general location of well (needs to be 75 min from septic) start poking around with a bar

So the puller rental cost $80.
Pump was $740 for a Gould's 3/4 HP 7 GPM.

And all the following added up to $100.
(10) spacers
(1) torque arrestor
(2) heat shrink sealing kits
(1) 1.25"-1" adapter (since the new pump was 1.25" instead of 1")

So total: $933.29

Run hose to neighbor outside cock to your outside coke
water. least ask if he knows his well rate

Then take your time, the next time mine has to come up I will get it fracked

recommend spend a little more for a 3/4 HP
