On our way back, just before exit 71 on I84W, we had a blowout in the RV. Got to the shoulder, and found both passenger rear tires destroyed. One spare, no lug wrench(doh, took my impact out after LRRS7), meant calling AMA roadside assistance.

I called AMA at 8:30pm, and requested they have a roadside service company come out and install two new tires(something I had done before, in less than two hours, on my old RV).

Fast forward to almost midnight, after countless phone calls to them, the company they contract to handle roadside claims, and even local 24 hour truck service places, we were still waiting with NO ETR. Keith(CatahoulaBuldog) had reached out to Kevin(The Outlaw) who was willing to come and pick the guys up and bring them back to Meriden; I planned to stay behind and wait, but around the time he arrived AMA made it clear they had no idea whether they could even get this resolved tonight(including finding anyone to tow it before morning), so I went with them and left a spare key hidden for the eventual service company.

At 1am, AMA called me back, said they had finally found a company(IN Willington where we were, no less) who could handle the call. They might have one or two tires in stock. If so, they were going to replace them and drive the RV to their shop for me to pick up Monday when they opened. If not, they were going to tow my RV to their shop and replace the tires Monday. AMA was supposed to call me once they confirmed which was happening, which is why I stayed up, but I fell asleep with no call. Called them today, and they didn't even know...so they called and found out the RV was at the shop, but they didn't know any more than that with any certainty. AMA said I "might" have needed three tires, the shop "might" have put my spare on, and they "might" have had one new tire in stock.

AMA roadside also told me today(not last night) that the reason they had so little info is that the "department that handles these types of vehicles" is "off on weekends." You know, weekends; when motorcyclists are most likely to be traveling using their tow vehicles and trailers.

Aside from that, we had fun. Got there, unloaded, did some riding. The day was a little shorter than typical because of the Halloween activities the club was having that day, but we still got a good amount of riding in.

It was Keith(76), Mike(772), Kyle(609) and I(86), along with BK on my TTR125(not pictured).

We set up at the top of the paddock where we had a good view of the track.

We had the space pretty much to ourselves, I think during racing this is a spectator area, so most of the regulars set up down below in their normal spots.

Towards the end of the day the club had a "ribbon run," an informal race for adults(sans their local experts). We convinced Keith and Kyle to do it, since they were going pretty good all day. Since it was Halloween...they had to wear costumes.

Also, it was a 25 lap race, on the TT course...

Then came the drive home, which was fine until the above referenced blowout...where we quickly became a hungry, tired, frustrated group.

Luckily, Kevin came to the rescue. Aurora was especially thrilled with sitting in the back seat of a Ram with four guys.

Ha ha good point. You did a good job keeping it under control.

Besides the blow out, it was a blast. Five friends riding essentially kid bikes on a dirt oval, and trying to pass each other... what's better.

Sounds like a hellish end to a good day. Wish I could have made it, but had something happen to my shoulder at the gym on Wed., and also came down with a weak, but annoyingly tiring cold on Friday.

Just got off the phone with the shop, they confirmed it only needs two tires, which they'll have done today.

The confusion about it needing three seems to come from the fact that the shop went out, brought one of my wheels to their shop, put a used tire on, and used that and my existing spare to drive back to their shop.

AMA has already paid them for the "roadside stuff," but they didn't have a price for me on the tires yet. Hopefully they didn't get screwed over on the pricing for the recovery and take it out on me in the tire pricing.

RV is back home, thanks to a ride to Willington tonight from Keith. Two new tires, one bent rim moved to the spare, a few broken wires I need to fix, and a missing taillight cover to order.
