Question BoRn, are we moving on?

So, the site is pretty inactive now a days. No one really street rides anymore, most of the core members have kids by now or have scattered across the country. There isnt any new member recruitment or many reasons for CT based riders to join or even find the forum.

What should we do? Shut it down? Pass it onto one of you who would try and bring it back to life? Should we just let it die out slowly? Other than Tonys track days and RSP I dont really see people gathering for bike related events.

Thoughts, were open to suggestions or ideas or the expected silence lol.

Whatever happens, don't "kill" it.

Agreed. I will type up a more thorough, well worded response when I have access to a keyboard. But dont kill it

I've been wondering when you would pose this question publicly, since it's been tossed around here in passing, primarily on new member threads when someone jumps down the new guy's throat.

Some initial thoughts:
I don't really know what the answer is to reigniting membership, especially since I am one of those not in the 'core' geographic location nor do I own a street bike anymore. Between here and ODFU, I've met some of my best friends, so for that sentimental reason alone I concur with Noel and Adam.

OTOH: those of us who are friends outside the keyboard don't need this forum to communicate. Rhetorically, what is the cost (time and money) to operate BoRn, even at it's currently-low level of traffic? If that outweighs the benefits, then you have your answer.

OTOH again, it's convenient to have this venue to communicate about moto or other things, without having to find this specific audience amongst the masses on FB or even some other forum.

Lots of great memories for all sorts of people are held within these pages .

Here is an " Outside the Box " thought , but you all think I am crazy anyways .

How about a merger with NESR ?

There's already a umbilical connection. In that, every active member is also active there.

I very much like you to keep it open if you can. I haven't been visiting often but I'd like to get some group rides together next season if i can get some decent routes together. Just this season I got a couple of friends on the site and they went on a couple of group rides.

Does the site cost a lot of time and expense to run? Could we setup a patreon to help alleviate the cost to you? I'd be willing to help out with either as BORN has provided friends, knowledge, and a lot enjoyment over the years for me.

Is recruitment of members desired? I'd be also willing to print out and pass out business cards to riders. Didn't someone, maybe Kurtz, do that years ago? I always mentioned BORN to riders that weren't complete d's but never had anything to pass out.
