are helmets becoming more mandatory? are certain areas(parks, glades, moguls) more inclined to require them?

I can't see a wide open blue trail needing one?

Also is Mt. Southington worth it for night runs during the week for a seasons worth? I'm significantly physically closer to it now.

I dont think anywhere requires them but having ridden street before with Erik, heís gonna need one.

As far as blue trails, Im not referring to Erik here because I dont know what or how he rides, but for beginning snowboarders, the flatter the trail, the more you need a helmet. The flatter the trail, the less distance between snow and heelside edge of a snowboard when carving on toeside edge. Its catching that heelside edge and slamming the back of your head onto the snow or ice with no way to protect yourself that makes lots of people quit snowboarding or worse

So I searched all day while I was slow at work. I went crazy on Amazon, found it to be the cheapest but some decent stuff. I have a huge order coming in

I got pant, gloves, jacket, goggles, stomp pad, and a face mask.

I bought a helmet yesterday and also have my board stuff already. I already have under armor stuff for later also.

Anything I'm missing?

Yup, definitely worth it even if you use the card only once in the season (or twice in CT).

So I'm pretty happy with all my purchases, Thursday night at sundown it was about 2 degrees but the windchill was below zero and I was toasty warm.

My helmet has held up good and I've def hit it hard about 3 times. Considering a kid I went with cracked his 200$ Oakley helmet my 70$ smith has held up.

About 8 hrs of riding time in and I'm linking my turns nice, when I do catch to much speed I bail to heal side but I've been forcing myself to toe side and I'm getting it. This shit is a ton of fun after you get past the crash fest in the beginning.

Couple more local trips then I'll be heading north to hit some day trips on the bigger mountains.

Cool man, SO many people give it up during that first couple days and the certain hard slams while learning, but itís pretty easy as you are finding out, once you learn what to never do (LOL).

If you are already enjoying Sundown in the bitter cold, sounds like you are over the hump; definitely all downhill from here!
