Quick answer is no. You need a reason to have a clearance. Plus the backlog on clearances is redonk right now. Depending on level it's 4 months to 2 years to get done

your fine going to the pd for a cori check. I make perspective tenants pull one on themselves all the time. I can do it for them as well if I wanted with no issue. it's not a very robust check but may alert you to potential problems before you become to vested in whatever it is your looking at doing.
beyond that you can hire a private investigator type company to run one on you that can be as in-depth as you want. that the expensive way though and will likely cost $100 at the low end and much much more for a really in-depth one. I think it costs my company about $500 to run a decent one per person that allows us into certain government installations for work. takes about 2 weeks to a month to do depending on what they find. I guess delays come up when they find something and have to request more details on it.
