Default Free: iOmega eGo external HDD

1TB, USB 3. Looks old but it is freshly formatted and works fine. Contains a Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7000RPM Sata (6.0Gb/s) drive. This is the drive ONLY, no usb cable and power supply is missing. Requires a 12v, 1.5a brick with positive center (I have successfully used a 1a brick but no idea if that will work long term or fry the power supply). Can be picked up in branford or durham.

Last chance. I had previously assumed, but have now confirmed that any hard drive (even an used one from a busted laptop) can be plugged into the logic board and accessed as an external drive. If no one wants this thing by the end of the week, it's getting a new enclosure and will be used for data recovery when needed

Wait so you can take a HD from a non working laptop, plug it into this thing and access the files on the HD? If so I'll take it. I have like 4-5 laptops that were abused by wife/kids and I've been scratching my head how I'm gonna get all the pictures of the kids out of them!

Cliffs: Yes you can do exactly that.

Internally it has a sata connector so as long as the drives you want to access have the same, it should work. Unless the laptops are SUPER old they should be sata drives. I've swapped 6-7 different drives into it in the last 2 days as I'm working on trying to recover a couple old laptops at work and every one of them has worked just fine. Be aware that you may run into permissions issues when trying to access the files depending on how the original computers were setup as far as user names and passwords. If you're not able to get past a permissions lock, use the enclosure on a Linux machine and that should bypass the issue.

How big is this? I can swing by on my way to work and grab it if I leave a little before 3. I take 79 in & can loop around 77 to your place enroute. If it's too big to carry on the bike I'll take the cage.

a little bigger than a paperback novel. As long as you have a tank/tail/saddle bag, it will fit. However, I have it at my office in branford right now. I will bring it home with me tonight and leave it there so you can grab it tomorrow if you want.

Hey man just saw this. I'm off today/tomorrow. What time do you get out of work/home? Maybe I'll take a spin on the bike to come pick it up.

I'll send you a text man. Communicating through PM's/posts I suck at.
