yes, it is a CDI controlled bike. unfortunately there is no way to TEST the CDI other than to get a new one and try it. they aren't exactly cheap and i don;t know anyone locally with a 250xc in this year range.

CDI is the only part of the ignition system that i have not replaced yet.

Regardless, the 90psi of compression i have is WAY under the ~165 that i SHOULD have. so that needs to be diagnosed as well.

For what you want to do it would be ridiculous if you DIDN'T look into an electric.

Only limitation would be multiple hour trail rides a-la mancation, which isn't a frequent thing.

Even when we ride the dam we only actually ride for like 2 hours.

Exactly. And I have a kdx available to me so if I did do mancation it’s not the end of the world.

Bring the generator to the dam and “top” up while we take those 20-30 minute breaks.
