Default Saturday March 7,09 - Late morning ride

If the weather holds up like it's forecasted I'll prob be headed out for a ride Sat, maybe 10-1 or so. Most likely some sort of loop through western CT starting in Derby. Post up if you want to ride, maybe we can centralize the start if people are interested.

Here's a google map of a route I just threw together Starting at the Derby Home Depot. Meet 9:45AM - Leave the Depot at 10:00AM

Mostly state routes so sand shouldn't be as bad there. This will take 2 hours easily. Once we get to Rt. 8 at the end you can decide how you wanna get home. It will be a medium paced ride at best, so don't expect to break any land speed records.

I won't be stopping for lunch unless anyone else come's and wants to stop somewhere.
Like Jenni said, roads might be bad, so make sure you're ok with that. Click attend if you plan on coming so I know to go down to the depot and wait for you.

stay safe & be careful with all the sand on the roads & drivers not expecting you to be out this early in the season. i'm getting anxious, too, but some waits are worth it.

I put in over 700 miles this year for the winter challenge, so I'm well aware of the people not expecting you and sand on the road, and it's really good advice.

Last week I rode some roads and the sand was really bad, so it'd def still an issue, and I imagine after this big snow it will still be an issue, so everyone keep that in mind.

Thanks for posting that up Jenni.

I may be down, as i don't really have to hit up side roads, but we'll see what friday brings - supposedly we will have a mixed bag - I'm hoping it rains enough to get the salt residue off the roads.

The state roads aren't bad at all since they pretty much don't use sand anymore, but the side roads are awefully full of sand for my liking.

I'd definitely be interested depending on my Honey Do list. But she's been in Miami for the past week so it's my turn to go out and have fun.

Where were you thinking of riding to?

Depending on the sand on the roads, and how work goes the rest of this week (>50% chance I have to work this weekend as of right now), I might be in. Won't know till Sat. AM though, so don't base it on me.

I would totally be down. If I did not have an exam to take that afternoon. Damn it.
