Default This is my brain, This is my brain on bikes.

So since last Saturdays little mishap I have been doing a lot of thinking about my track going ways. Here are my brain waves in action.
Reasonable Matt: You should sell the Honda and only have two bikes.

Cool guy kid Matt: Screw that, I can afford it and you can never have enough bikes.

Reasonable Matt: Yeah but that is too many toys and you need to save more money.

Cool guy kid Matt: Screw that, the Honda kicks ass and it is fast at the track.

Reasonable Matt: You don’t need three bikes. Two is enough and the Aprilia rocks.

Cool guy kid Matt: The Aprilia is slower at the track and expensive to fix.

Reasonable Matt: It is still cheeper than owning a whole other bike.

Cool guy kid Matt: I want to speed and be the fastest trackday junkie, period. The Honda is faster, it has Ohlin’s, GMD and Scott’s cool shit on it. Oh and did you see the cool red windscreen? Plus I already bought a Power Commander.

Reasonable Matt: You are a home owner with responsibilities. Be an adult.

Cool guy kid Matt: I am an adult and I can afford all three bikes. Now shut the hell up while I take the Honda to the track and beat it relentlessly for every inch of its life while the Aprilia stay home and pretty.

Reasonable Matt: Shouldn’t you buy a cheaper, older used track bike and save the difference?

Cool guy kid Matt: So I can inherent other peoples problems and ride a used, beat up bike. Funk that. Didn’t I tell you to shut the hell up so I can race prep the Honda. Now where is my spray paint?

    Reasonable Matt: Yeah but………….

Cool guy kid Matt: You will die…………. The Honda stays.

All said and done, the Honda stays and may just get some track plastics.

you and pang need to start a support group for indecisive bike owners..

Find your own path and encourage others to do the same.

R u going ot try different clips on/grips to try and cut out the numbness your having..

Also not to make things more difficult, but the 07-08 Cbr's stock are like a 'trackday' prepped 05-06.. Maybe you should bump up to a newer one?

dude, you could always supercharge the mille. Then the "but the honda is faster" argument won't work anymore (see me for more details on the blower)

It is not about straight line acceleration Ian. Both bikes are exactly the same in that field. The Honda is faster because it is lighter and has a better suspension.

I feel the same way about multiple bikes Matt. Except I want one for each type of riding. Sport/Dual-purpose/cruiser/vintage/side-car rig.
