There was a 15 foot gap between the last flare on 84 and off ramp, people were hopping back on the highway between the flare and off ramp only to be back on the highway and head to the accident where they weren't letting people through.
People are stupid, and this type of stuff drives me up a wall. Maybe I’m bias because my husband and father and many friends work in the law enforcement fields. This type of shit is what unfortunately can and has caused a lot of injuries or further accidents. When there’s accidents or wires down or what have you, these law officials are blocking the scene to keep the involved, them, and others stay safe. I don’t get why that’s so hard to understand and people feel the rules don’t apply to them. Not long ago there was news article going around about a guy who decided to drive by an officer blocking a road for down wires. Well the guy drove past, drove into live wires and whatever freak thing happened killed him.

after the last nor'Easter i was driving down Rt 42 in bethany towards 63. there are no exits that can get you off of/ around this road for like 3 miles. if its blocked, you turn around, drive all the way back to town and try a different connecting road.

There was a tree down across wires. tree was probably 7 feet off the ground, Cop on the OTHER side of the tree, lights on. we're about 1/2 mile from 63, so pretty far committed, shitty to have to turn around.

Person in front of me sees tree, slows down, slowly approaches, waits, no one says NOT so, so they drive under the tree. I've never rooted so hard for mother nature. i wanted to see that tree drop straight across their hood so badly. Cop got out after they had gone under and left and looked at me with a HUGE WTF shrug.

I don't think your bias, I just think that you, me and Kyle all have heads on our shoulders and know how to use them. I did feel bad for the cop this morning, he was standing on the highway re-adjusting the flares and you could see the frustration on his face as people were hopping back on. Early morning commutes have had some pretty interesting moments, so glad I got a dashcam

I had this theory/idea that honestly I think should be initiated/allowed. As a kid one of the books we had to read was “The Scarlet Letter”. I loved that book solely for the idea of a wrongdoer having a mark placed on them so it’s immedately apparent to anyone who lays eyes on that person knows what their deal is.

    So here’s my idea:

Officers should be equipped with a full-auto paint ball gun. The paintballs will be comprised of a special paint (I’m sure DuPont or somebody could make this) that is almost impossible to remove or paint over. When someone does something egregiously idiotic the officer, in lieu of a motor vehicle stop/infraction is permitted to light up the offending vehicle with a predetermined dose of these paintballs in a very, VERY recognizable paint color......like neon orange-green staggered. That way when you see the vehicle you’re like...”ohh.....there’s a fucktard.....steer clear of the fucktard......don’t park next to the fucktard”.

I think this is a grand idea for a whole slew of reasons.

Can citizens take a special permitting course to be issued said paintball guns? If so I'm in.

As long as we can do the same when we get pulled over by an asshole cop.
