Default Who's ready for next weekend?

I spent the bulk of the day getting the SV ready. I just got it back yesterday from where it was painted.

I really didn't have much to do. Just regular maintenance. (oil, radiator flush, chain maintenance, tighten everything, change plugs, safety wire a few things)

Here she is with her new skins. I'm wondering how it will feel with the much lower windscreen than the other bodywork it used to have on it? The new plastics are Armor Bodies and they're modeled after the lower-style SV-S front end.

I just need to have the new rubber installed when I get to the track on Friday and I'll be good to go.

I've upgraded my readiness status to 100% sure there is an SV in the trailer.

I replaced the hot start cable nut on the carb and my crf is now running great. Going up the road the front end is really light though so I am going to try to either put the forks higher in the triples or raise the rear end. I also got the steering stabilizer mount I needed and it is now operational. I am picking up the plastics from Darren tomorrow and am going to safety wire the bike tomorrow as well. New tires will be waiting at the track from MTAG. It's all coming together!

Looks great Chuck, I bet that purple is going to look badass under full sun.

Personally at this point I know the bike runs...thats about it. I still dont even know if i screwed up putting the transmission back together or not as I havent been able to take it out for a quick spin.

In any case, going up to the Dyno on Wednesday so I need to have everything buttoned up before then. That reminds me, I need to pick up some gas...

Well, I may not be done. It doesn't seem to want to hold an idle with the choke off. It's always been a bit temperamental when cold.

Might just be some shit in the carbs, which I didn't look at. I'll run some Techron through it, which usually make things run nicely again.

If by "ready" you mean "have a broken off, semi-drilled out, front header bolt that won't react to a bolt extractor," then yes, I'm ready.

Not even close. Grabbing a quick bite before I rip the carbs apart AGAIN.

Finally got the new EX running, with some parts cannibalized from the old EX. At least I know it runs.

Starter is wonky, only works sometimes. Other times it just starts and stops, I thought the engine was seized the first few times. Gotta see what else it could be, possibly swap starters.

The carbs that came with it are seized up, in REALLY rough shape. I put the carbs from my other EX, which has always had carb issues, on it. One of the damn things was leaking. Adjusted float height. Had them apart 3x today/tonight. Can't figure it out. Starting to consider throwing match at carbs right after taking them off the bike, while they're still half filled with gas.

Assuming I can get this thing running decent, and assuming it shifts, I'll have a small punchlist:

    Swap shock
    Swap forks
    Swap rearsets
    Swap clipons
Install a bunch of new bearings
    Swap wheels
    Swap brakes, masters, lines, etc.
    Get and install bodywork
Safety wire (at least it's 80% drilled.

You know, just a little bit of stuff.

You front number plate is crooked. Should be in the center.
