    Default Feeler/For Sale: 1978 Kawasaki KZ650

I'm going to be putting my KZ650 up for sale because I really just don't use it enough.

I bought the bike as my first bike in 2006 and it was rough. From 2006 and into the summer or 2007 I stripped it down to the frame and replaced virtually every rubber item and bearing that could be replaced. The only thing I haven't touched is the motor, because it's never given me trouble and has been rock solid.

The following items have been replaced:
    - New battery
    - New chain, front and rear sprockets
    - Rebuilt brake calipers
    - Stainless braided HEL brake lines
    - K&N pod filters
    - V&H 4 into 1
    - Dyna S ignition
    - Head stock has All Balls Racing tapered roller bearings
    - New needle bearings in the swingarm
    - New progressive rear shocks
    - Fork seals replaced
    - New grips
    - New Pingel petcock

    It will need:
    - Tires

If I recall, the engine seeps some oil from the valve cover gasket when running, but nothing major.

The frame was repainted black, and the fenders and tank were painted (not rattle canned) a satin black.

    Some "during" pictures:

Here is the first picture of it when it was finished:

Current pictures will most likely come tomorrow or this weekend after I get it cleaned up.

    Asking $2,000.

My fault for not getting back to you about this. I talked to pops, he said he will pass on this for now as he wants to get some decent gear and wants to learn/train on something smaller then work his way up to a couch, erm a sport touring bike.

Ha, thanks Mo, no worries. I would have held on to it longer but bigger purchases have changed my priorities.

Your dad has the right idea.. while this was my first bike, I can't say I'd really recommend it to someone else as their first.
