    You guys think compressing the front suspension down when I strap it will screw up it up for such a long drive down?

    No it shouldn't. You can use a can style strap if you don't want to over tighten though. It's possible to over tighten with a ratchet strap but I still use them just don't go crazy.

    I'm with John and Ian on the new style canyon dancer. The old definitely suck.

    I would just go ahead and replace the wheel bearings... cost is less than $19 a side for the bearings and seal..... and takes about 15 minutes a wheel.
    If the bearings have no been greased at least annually then do it ASAP.

    canyon dancer can tear grips, break those flimsy plastic throttle tubes and then the bike falls over. after the failures I've seen of the first generation I wouldn't ever buy anything from them. ever.

    as for hard to miss fairings, I don't see that being an issue with one bike mounted in the center of the trailer. if it was, nothing says you can't tie a bike down from the middle of the bike where the frame meets the sub-frame. also helps cut down on the back tire dancing around on those wonderfully shit ny/nj roads. that's how i tie down the dirtbikes in the truck, kitty corner and by the frame/subframe junction. those bikes don't move! the only time one started to come loose is because i jumped the f150 a couple of feet up in the air...

    and i am a big fan of ratchet straps instead of the cheapie tie downs. the double loop extensions are nice too.
