Seems well covered, but as long as your brakes are in good working condition, you'll be fine.

    BRAKES / BRAKE PADS:

All motorcycles must have 2 working brakes - front and rear. Please be certain to check your brake pad thickness. Most brake pads have a groove cut into them. When this groove disappears, you are dangerously low on pad material. Personally, I change my pads when they lose about half of their thickness. On most bikes, you can shine a flashlight and determine pad thickness. If not, then you'll have to remove the caliper. Your life truly depends on your front brakes... take the time to ensure the pads and calipers are in perfect condition.

You won't be going fast enough to need brakes. Remove the entire braking system, front and rear, from the motorcycle... to save weight. This will also help you go faster.

(please just laugh and don't really do this)

Feel free to come find me to help you that morning. I'll be at the Pirelli Tire garage. If you're even slightly overwhelmed, and Tony's staff is all busy... I'd be happy to give you a hand.

What's this? Noel being nice, helping people? Woah.

That said, do take Noel up on his offer even if you do not feel overwhelmed. He's one of the good guys.

You won't out ride your brakes...

Let's just put it this way: if I couldn't outride the brakes on my 20 year POS FZR in 5 track days, you won't be doing it on your first. Granted, that's running HH pads but still...I'm on two decade-old stock rotors that are bluing heavily by the time I come back into the pits and there has been no sign of brake fade or any other thing that would "cause me to hit a wall".

Kris, it's also worth mentioning you should probably take your Evo out for some drives between now and your trackday.. Once you compare fun and cost factor for bike vs. car HPDEs it may not get much more use.

    I haven't done a car HPDE since I bought a bike.
