I am running the original 258 6 cylinder. I rebuilt it with a hotter cam, updated HEI ignition, 4.0 head that was reworked and a 2.5" flowmaster exhaust kit with a dynomax muffler and Howell Fuel injection. I put in an ax-15 5 speed from a 95 Grand Cherokee with the factory Dana 300 transfer case with a Novak adapter. The axles are both Dana 44's from a 79 international Scout. I rebuilt those with G2 gears and a Detroit Truetrac in the back. The rear drum brakes were converted to disks using Chevy tracker front rotors and Nissan 300 calipers. The driveshafts were rebuilt by CT driveshaft in East Hartford.
