Just want to put this out if anyone is interested. I have been contacted by several riders wanting to get a Helite GP air vest.

I have spoken with Helite and they will do another group buy for me. If anyone is interested pm me for pricing - Helite will cancel the deal if they see pricing anywhere.

In fact Helite will extend the group price for any of their vest.

I think we bought 25 vests last season.

What I would like to do is one buy if possible - it really is a ton of work on my end - from collecting everyone's info - to communicating with Helite to collecting funds and then getting the vests to everyone.

Glad to do it - they really are happy to do the group buy with me - especially after buying 25 already they now know we are serious and not wasting their time.

Also last year I was able to give them feedback on a few crashes involving the new vest - including video of one of the crashes. They actually used that information and updated the vest.

Since releasing the vest last summer they have updated it twice - I have an original one which is excellent but the gen 3 vest is hands down even better.

Check it out on their web page if interested.

Gen 3 now, eh? Will have to check out the differences. I saw the new leather side panels and kidney panels, which I assume were Gen 2.

For anyone on the fence, I got to ride with the vest on my last track day of 2017. It well and truly disappears on the bike. You really don't know you're wearing it.

I also got a live demo of the street version at December's IMS in NY. The thing gets impressively snug and really does immobilize your head and neck.
Kwicherbichen. I'm old and I'm slow and I don't care. Get off my lawn, ya punk.

The gen 3 is what you are seeing. The gen 2 was very short lived and it was not as obvious as the gen 3.

So it looks like this is going to happen - 5 riders have committed to purchasing one so we are half way there. Maybe in the next week or so I'm going to have enough riders to place the order.

One thing to think about for those of you that may be on the fence. Helite has a problem keeping them in stock. Last year some of us including me had to wait a few months for them to come in.

Doing this now it is still early so we should be all set.

When I place the order they tell me exactly what is in stock at that time.

The last order last fall all but two were in stock and those took a few weeks longer.

The other day when I spoke to them they had everything in stock - but they mentioned very shortly all the areas that have winter are getting ready for spring so those areas start ordering pretty heavy.

Update - just waiting to get everyone's info but it looks like we have 10 riders.

Helite just informed me they are going to COTA next month - they are gearing up for that - they will sell everything they have.

Just like last year they will then be on backorder - I want to get the order in by next week the latest - so we get these things before the season really gets going.

If you are on the fence you have a few more days left.

Last call - we have about 15 riders now - I am placing the order first thing Tuesday - well actually around noon - Helite is in California.
