I'm just gonna agree with whatever Kurtz says.

I have a high top extended cab Ford e350. It has many uses around the house.

For the track, I have a bed in the top that drops down on ropes so I can sleep without taking anything out of the van. It floats on top of the bike (the highest thing in the van)

    The benefits are

    1. Can drive on the parkways, critical for days when the interstates are backed up.
    2. All my stuff is inside, hidden, and out of the rain
    3. No trailer to tow, back up, and leave somewhere
    4. Tolls are less (isn't measurable)
    5. Bed is set up and ready in a minute. Easy levels when the van is on uneven ground.

    Cons:
    1. less convenient to load and unload than a trailer, it's slightly higher
    2. If I want to use the van for something else, stuff has to come out

I also have a heater and gas camping shower for comfort. If its really hot at the track, I put my basement 8000 btu AC unit in the window to cool the van.

I have been using it for at least 7 years

Pretty sure a e350 isnt allowed on parkways...if your gvwr is over 7500 lbs. itll be a matter of time before you get pinched. Also the high top, If its 8' or more thats another ding....even if your under weight
everything is simple to a simple mind!!! (think about it)

It's 8' 1" so seems fine. Combination plates, never an issue after many year visiting tracks from Canada to North Carolina. Not even thinking about LEO

    Basically a pre- sprinter vehicle.
