Default Track Bike Ride and Repair Pics

Thought I would share some on-topic (bike) pictures. Here are a couple when the day is going as planned. I will then try to upload some repairs I have done after a low side, as well as a couple 3d printed parts I made (well my son helped) to make covers for the mirrors and signals. Also, I will show the painting of a new race seat having just purchased a few spray guns.

Small dent in tank from the lowside. Left it dented for a season, but then last season decided to repair it. I filled the entire hole with bondo. I hope it doesn't fly out like a stone and hit anyone behind me. (I was going to pull it out but double wall aluminum made me think I would do more harm than good.

Here is a picture of the mirror mount hole that we covered with a part printed from the 3d printer. We added the BMW logo to the part. Wait until you see how nice it looks painted with the OEM color!

That's a pretty slick idea for a mirror blockoff.

Using the printer is a work in process. The software is pretty basic/limiting. I wanted the edge to be rounded, like a 1/4 round, but didnt see that option. The BMW logo was easy to do and i could put anything on there.

Iíll post up a signal hole cover we printed last night, need to move the thickness from 3.5mm to 1.5mm so it sits more flush to the panel.

Its fun to fool around with it.

Let me know if you want some better software. I can get you access to modeling software.

My son said I should just buy something, because the free version we were using is tinkercad.

Is there something that you would suggest that has a bit more functionality?

I'm not sure that I would be making many things, but then it seems like I am always coming up with the next needed item.

Crazy to be able to just print custom parts!

Here are some of the seat prep and then painted pictures. I started trying to do some Pinstripe alternatives since Iím going to sand it and reclear to remove the orange peel. Need to figure out why I have so much orange peel in the clear.

Yeah I'll try to upload the 3d design software I have Tuesday. It's like solid works but manufactured by Siemens.

There's a bit of a learning curve associated with it, especially if you haven't used solid works before.
