Can I sit on your shoulders for a better view of the track?

Of you that have gone before, what to do, are there any events they hold on or off site that are worth checking out? Where is best spot for watching? I want to utilize the time at the track as well as possible.

Never been to COTA (JEALOUS, ya bastard ), but I did go to all but one of the USGP F1 races at Indianapolis. One thing I always did, and was very glad that I did, was to arrive at the track super-early each day. There's something magical about that time of day, hanging out and sipping coffee while the place comes alive around you.

I also walked, a lot. Explored the whole place. When you give yourself time, you can do that without worrying that you'll miss something.

I don't know what the access situation is at COTA, but at Indy the only time you had to sit in your ticketed seat was for the race itself. The rest of the time, you were free to sit anywhere. That's really good for figuring out where the best spots are.
Kwicherbichen. I'm old and I'm slow and I don't care. Get off my lawn, ya punk.

How are you guys getting to/from the track? Was going to rent a car but the cota site won't load the 3 day parking pass. Will let me look at each day individually, but not the 3 day. Not going to pay an extra $20 when there's clearly parking available all 3 days...

edit: nevermind. Today the parking pass is working.

MotoGP: More Bumpy Track drama ahead in Austin?

there’s a possibility of extreme solutions like mandatory pit stops being introduced to this weekend’s event if the track is found to be not up to scratch
