Default PeaPod #343 LRRS weekend summary 04-2017

Saturday day Race 2 - Amateur GTL - Front row 2nd start position, but 6th place going into turn one . Managed to get up to third place with three minutes remaining. Lost third on last lap in turn 6 . Could have jumped into third place a few times earlier in the race, but kept getting a false neutral going into turn 3 causing me to gather it back up.

Saturday Race 7 - Amateur Lightweight Grand Prix - Front row 4th start position, but 8th place going into turn one, again. Got back up to fourth with some good battles.

Saturday Race 10 - Amateur Ultralight Superbike - Front row 3rd start position, managed fourth or so position going into turn one. Got third in 1a and managed to get second going into turn 3. Then I false neutraled going into three and wound up sixth place on the exit. Worked to get back into fifth for the finish.

OK start to the year. Not as strong as I was hoping, but the potential is there. Ran consistent 1:25 - 1:24's with a high 1.23 best lap for the weekend. Was hoping I would start off a second faster than I did, but I guess I need to re-learn my markers from last year, wish I had taken notes... Also seeing my weakness with starts, and fully engaging downshifts, from last year again.

Certainly looking like it is going to shape up to be a good competitive year in the amateur lightweight class this year! The top 6-8 riders were all pretty close with times, so the one who can get up to speed the fastest is going to be the one to beat. Looks like I've got some work to do.

Looks like you need to hit the drag strip and practice those starts!

Sounds like a great weekend otherwise, good work+

Where were you this weekend Brendan, I didn’t see you or your bike. I don’t think you want my race start notes, haha!

I decided to bow out of this round to prepare for a vacation that's coming up. Sucks to miss round 1, but ill be at round 2.

I meant I would share mine with you as I tend to have really good starts. My downfall is I can't keep the lead after I get it, lol. Then again you are my competition so maybe I'll wait on the sharing.
