Default my new track bitch (not a bike)

I've decided to turn my unused e36 into my new track toy. it's completely bone stock with 140k but in good shape. I've never had a problem with it either. my first track day is this saturday and I'm going to run it as is. I've never been to the track I'm going to and I've never been on any track with this car or really pushed it for that matter so I figure it's best not to mess with it yet.

    Wish it luck.

Good Luck!! They make very good track vehicles. I'd recommend some unglamourous chassis/suspension bracing upgrades as your first modifications if you decide you will be doing this regularly, will help avoid expensive repairs later.

If it hasn't been done recently, and you have a few hours prior to Sat. I'd really try throwing on a new set of brake pads and bleeding the fluid if at all possible.

I want to change the pads and change the brake fluid but its not in the cards. I just dont have the time. I think it has some ebc pads in from years and years ago so that will have to do.

Im going to bedford autodrome this week then brands hatch with it next week. Both in the uk.

My 01 750 sat in my shed under a mountain of crap for almost 10 years before i turned it into a track bike. At one point during that time i honestly believed i sold it only to find it under everything about a year later. Thats when i knew i had a problem.

I managed to get some good brake fluid today but i cant make the time to do it before i leave for the track. Im hoping to find some willing soul to help me when i get there. Id pay someone to do it at this point.
The fluid in it is at least clean. Records show it was flushed just before i got it 2 years ago.

Well the car did remarkably well. It did about 150 miles on the track and had no issues as long i kept the car on the track for less that 25 minutes. Everytime i went over that the tires started melting and i would slide all over the place. In the end the chunks missing from my front tires is what stopped from going out any more but the day was nearly done anyway. When i got home and checked the brakes i still had about 75% fronts and only about 25% rears so those are getting replaced. I dont know what they started at as i was only concerned enough to check the fronts but i think they may have been low before hand.

It was a pretty nice track i was on. Its the bedford autodrome. 4.2 miles long with a 2.3k back straight. Pretty featureless other than that. Its built on an old airfield so its very flat. Im gonna try and get out on it with my nsr if i can but they have weird trackday laws here so i might not be able too.
