I can give you a name of such a priest that for a donation to the church will help you be whole with your responsibilities.

But honestly. Just get up on Sunday for the next few weeks and talk to the priest and others there.

this... exactly. And not even a business... a business that doesn't pay taxes. Fuck the entity of the catholic church.

Quick story. When my daughter was to be baptized, I chose my brother as Godfather. The church performing her baptism required him to show proof of catholic confirmation. The church we grew up in refused to release his proof of confirmation because "it had been so long since he attended or donated". He told them he had moved out of the area and had been attending another church (fabrication), and they weren't having it.

I was furious, so I called, and got a hold of the priest, and got "religious" on him. I said something like, "So, let me get this straight. You're going to hold up my daughter's baptism, because my brother hasn't donated to a church, no where close to where he lives? And as a PRIEST, you're going to prevent the removal of original sin from my daughter and block her path to heaven?"

Well, that little reminder of what he was SUPPOSED to be representing shut him right up. After a few seconds of him stuttering, we ended the phone call. I had a faxed copy of his proof of confirmation in my hands, 10 minutes later.

Just an example of how bs the whole thing is. He's the closest male relative that would actually be a positive role model so they went for it. He does get roped into a lot of stuff he'd rather not go to, and seems to always show up with a gift of some sort.
