    Back to helmets...

I just ordered an AGV Veloce. This thread had me worried that there was some serious quality issues.

The pricing on their top-of-the-line helmets is bordering asinine; but the same goes for most everything Dainese.

Is that because all the TOTL AGV’s say “Rossi” in the name, or because #carbonfiber...or just because Dainese?

Received the helmet on Tuesday. The Veloce S feels like a very well made, quality helmet (as it should for original MSRP around $500). The only thing I would nitpick is that the visor didn't seem to have a strong detent at the open position; it felt as though it might not be sufficient to keep the visor open after seeing some use.

Unfortunately, the helmet does not provide sufficient room for my schnoz at the chin bar. My nose was *just* in contact with the upper portion of the chin bar and breath deflector. Given that the chin vents are manipulated from inside the helmet, I feel like I would have had a hellish time getting my gloved finger between my face and the helmet to operate the switch.

As for internal shape of the padding, this may be considered an "intermediate oval" shape, but it was maybe a bit too far to the round side for me.

I fairness, I just went and looked at the Shoei that's in my garage, and your nose is on the chin bar...

    "Nose" is a euphemism.
