That's not official yet, although the writing is on the wall.

That'll pull LRRS on a bit of a collision course with CCS who has steadfastly refused to do the same. Normally where we differ from CCS in shared classes we're more restrictive, so our stuff still flies under CCS rules making points sharing fine. This would make all our SuperSport classes more open than CCS... dunno what Eric Ketchler will think about that.

It really should be a rule change made everywhere anyways...

In amateur racing slick vs dot isn't going to be a deciding factor.

Eric Wood(who couldn't make the rules meeting) had submitted a well researched request to allow slicks in all classes. One of the main reasons I went to the rules meeting was to hear what was covered on this.

CCS objected to the idea mid year for manufacturer contingency reasons. Eric reached out to Kawasaki and Sukuki(?), neither of which said it would impact their payouts, and claimed no other manufacturer was paying contingency regardless.

None of the tire vendors(Sto, Steve and myself) at LRRS objected, either. It's actually easier for me if I can carry (almost) all slicks, instead of a mix of the two.

The part about CCS championship points wasn't really covered, but I don't know of any LRRS racers who are in points contention in other regions, so maybe that doesn't matter?
